MTKD

Thermocouple circuits are typically connected using thermocouple extension wires. Extension lines are made of materials which have the same thermal characteristics as the thermocouple. The current carrying cross members of the MTKD thermocouple terminal blocks are made of the same metals as the extension wires. As a result, there are no thermovoltages at the thermocouple, the terminal block or the extension wire junction. This effectively eliminates errors caused by cold junction compensation.

Signal drift and accuracy will be significantly worse when the above mentioned practices are not followed in areas where cabinet temperatures can not be controlled.

The thermocouple terminal block comes in pairs and is clearly marked on the top with the type of material used in the cross members. Each pair is only 10.4 mm wide.
